Paediatric Diabetes Clinical Nurse Consultant

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Diabetes Educator to join our multidisciplinary team in the role of Clinical Nurse Consultant Grade 2 (CNC2) at the Royal North Shore Hospital Department of Paediatric Diabetes and Endocrinology. This pivotal role involves providing expert clinical leadership and expertise within the domains of a CNC2.

What you’ll be doing
The successful applicant will use their skills as a clinical nurse consultant within the team to lead the development of clinical guidelines and standards, to develop and implement improvements to clinical practice within the team, educate staff and initiate and lead research and quality improvement activities. This role is also responsible for the provision of a consultation service for paediatric diabetes across hospital services within the NSLHD. The successful candidate will likely participate in the development of state and national level diabetes working parties.

The CNC2 works both autonomously and collaboratively within the interdisciplinary team to improve the quality of patient care and promote desired outcomes for patients with diabetes. The CNC2 is responsible for the provision of clinical supervision to nursing staff and acts as a role model to other team members.

As a senior nurse, the successful candidate will work to advance nursing care in keeping with the vision and CORE values of the NSHLD, and have professional accountability to the Department Head and Director of Nursing and Midwifery.
